"Corn on the Cob!" "16 cents each!" "8 for a dollar!" 'Tis the season for fresh corn, at great prices. If you are tired of your traditionally boiled or grilled corn on the cob, but want to take advantage of the deals you can find on it this time of year, why not try a little twist? A few nights ago, our family did a corn tasting. Have you seen the recipes where you take corn on the cob, and jazz it up a bit with herbs or spices and grill it wrapped in foil? We tried this idea, using different combinations of herbs from our garden. First we cut some parsley, cilantro, chives, thyme and basil: Then created different herb combinations on sheets of foil with a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper: Each cob or two went on each sheet of foil: And then onto the grill for about 15 minutes: After a good grilling, they were ready to eat! The verdict? Cilantro and chive was the tastiest, followed closely by thyme. SPC
