Learning doesn't have to take a back seat this time of year just because we are busy wrapping, baking and generally loosing our minds with holiday prep, instead fit learning into your day. While wrapping gifts bits of ribbon can turn into a color match game, as well as a lesson about textures.
1. Gather your materials. You will need various colors of ribbon, a container with 2 or more sections and some paper or foam in the colors you are focusing on.
2. Pop the paper or foam in the bottom of the divided container. We are using sparkly foam because it's fun and festive!
3. Cut small pieces of various ribbon into a basket. Try to mix textures if you can. Rough, smooth, shiny.. all different kinds to explore.
4. Time to match ! Your child can put the colors in the corresponding spot. Something my son and I do is take turns and I act silly and try to convince him to put the red in the green or vise versa it keeps the game and learning going!
