Manners in Public by Carrie Finn is a great to the point book about things you should and shouldn't do in public. It covers using polite words, being kind , waiting your turn and more. What made this book stand out from many others was how simple it was without talking down to the reader. The illustrations by Chris Lensch are funky ,and I think they really add to making manners cool in this book.
Whoopi's Big Book Of Manners by Whoopi Goldberg is as hilarious as I was hoping it would be. This is a great book because it's funny and gross and talks about the things that kids think are funny like picking your nose, passing gas and forgetting to knock on a door before opening it. For kids that don't think manners are cool will think they are after reading and laughing at this book. Definitely one for the early elementary crowd.
Emily's Magic Words by Cindy Post Senning and Peggy Post is a perfect introduction to good manners for young children. I read this to my son and with every turn of the age we role played the situations. Only the basics are covered but are done well for the toddler and preschool set. There is a fantastic note to parents at the end. My favorite part is how we should know what to expect from our kids and not expect too much or too little. That's awesome advice!
