You're so right about the marketing industry and how each day is perceived. It is funny to note the differences. Flowers and lace vs. beer and golf/fishing/bbq.
Lucky is just how I feel. I told my dad last night on the phone I wished I could've split myself in two yesterday. One of me to stay here and give J breakfast in bed and spend the day with our little family (which is just what I did) and one of me to go back to my hometown and spend the day with my family of origin. Grilling out at my brother's with my parents and grandparents. Wishing I could do both, feeling glad to have my own family now and also missing the time with my relatives. I guess I'll just leave it to feeling glad that I've got some of both.

I know, Omaha--I've had many Father's Days and Mother's Day when I wanted to be split in two. It's so hard...but it sounds like your husband and your family had a wonderful day!

Oh, what a beautiful post.
My poor husband. I forgot about Father's Day until Sunday morning. Lucky for me, though - the kids had made him presents at school and The Girl and The Boy made him COFFEE AND AN OMELET while we were still sleeping. Lucky for THEM, they were fine. Yikes.

Scott was convinced Father's Day should have been the weekend before, since he insists it was that weekend last year...and it sounds like your husband had a great Father's Day-eggs and coffee-what could be better?

I agree Marti--more recognition for the dads out there!
