My mom used to use this technique for lots of things. To write a letter to someone you want to chew out, to write down things you are angry about, and to burn up scary things. We had to burn our trash in a barrel when I was small, so we got to take stuff out there and burn it. I found it very therapeutic. I hope L thought so too!

Do I see little registered symbols next to some of the fears, like the Scooby Doo? L. is such a great kid, to give credit where credit is due. I was always a little spooked out by Scooby Doo, too. It might be the music or soundtrack, as I am easily frightened by cheesy scary music.
