I've been taking stock this week too. B starts school Monday and I'm excited to get into that routine and for her to make some new friends. I will tell you that as you wrote about being in meetings, I was jealous. There, I said it. I miss putting on my teacher hat at the moment, even though this one year off will fly by, I am sure. I have always wanted TIME with my kids, TIME off and am trying to be in the moment while I do. It's the transition that's been just a little rough around the edges.

I know you already know this, Omaha, but cherish every moment home with your kids. I stayed home for one year when L. was a year old--right after we moved down here. I enjoyed it, but I was also frustrated and restless at times. I"m not sure I realized what a gift I'd been given. But at the time, I worried the time home would go on forever. Of course it didn't, and now I look back and desperately miss that one year I had to be home with L.

I just got home from a whirlwind of information at my new job. But walking into the school as a teacher was a wonderful feeling. Now to get some actual planning done...

(And to get over the fact that the baby I left in Trillian's care is 6-months-old now!)

6 months! SO hard to believe...While I often resent all the meetings, they do work to get the thoughts flowing again before the new semester.
