My B says donate like it's a swear word. "Don't donate that mom!" She's happy to give money or new items for people in need, but doesn't love parting with her own things. EVEN worn out or too small clothing. She finds it difficult to part with everything. While I try to have her make choices about giving away toys that no longer get played with, I also do a bigger sweep a few times a year to keep things weeded out. Like happy meal toys or strange goody bag trinkets. We will definitely do a small donation before Christmas in the spirit of giving. I agree with you, it is very important!

Yes, "donate" can be a bit of a bad word in our house as well. Although T. will part with clothes, we only managed together to come up with a total of three small stuffies she could part with. I do as you do--a regular cleaning of those small and annoying trinkets that seem to spring up everywhere!

Thanks for your comment, MomaG--it sounds like you're raising some generous and thoughtful boys...!
