We have a handful of those spiral-bound cookbooks too. A couple are even so slim they're just stapled, pamphlet-style. My favorite is one my small residence hall put together. I used it a lot more when I was eating wheat, especially for the brownie recipe.

Your post has inspired me to pull out some of my smaller cookbooks and take a look. I'm suddenly craving Indian Pudding, which is in one of the super-skinny New England pamphlets.

I'm looking forward to spending the weekend browsing through some of the spiral books--there's an apple pie recipe in one that I really love!

I love those cookbooks too. I have a few from my small hometown and it's filled with the names of people I know. And one family collection that my mom's family made years ago. She has a drawer full of them, planning to give one to each of her grandchildren on their wedding day.

You've made me want to dig mine out again and try something new.

I guess we'll all be busy this weekend cooking away from our spiral bound books!
