I like that term - soft house. We call the forts and they are often snow day activities at our house. We usually use the couch on one side and chairs on the other. Bed sheets make a nice, light roof. :-) We usually end up with the entire population of stuffed animals and my B has recently started calling it a clubhouse when we make one. This past weekend, I wasn't really in the "mood" so each child got a super small fort. One chair each, backed up to each side of the couches. Their own fleece blankets draped as a roof. They thought that was fun and took turns visiting each other. It was a little more manageable, although B insisted that they stay up for days also. I think she and your L would get along just fine. ;0)
Have a great weekend! (I MISS Saturday Pursuits...btw.)

We've done the individual "soft houses" too, with visits between them...fun!

Have a great weekend, too--we're driving to Greensboro to have lunch with old friends...

We call them forts and no one is EVER ready to take them down, well, I should say the kids are never ready to take them down. Josh and I usually are ready.

we built soft houses all the time, too, when I was a kid!

And now that you're a parent, you have an excuse to build again, right?!
