I'm glad that most of our travel is to and from the grandparent's house, less than an hour away, especially since Legos *must* make every trip right now.

We're amazingly lax about letting Scooter watch DVDs when traveling, but in the past year or so he turns them down more often than not.

You are SO lucky to have a short distance--I envy that. It's a trek, but only 6 hours by train, so it could be worse. I can't imagine having to fly across a coast, for instance.

Yes, the Lego thing. It seems like the best traveling toy, and maybe they work for more flexible kids. But if we lose a piece, it's a meltdown for sure, and just way too stressful for all of us!

Have fun! I think I enjoyed packing my kids' travel bags last year for going to FL as much as they had finding all of their goodies. The $ aisle at Target was a must for that.
