I never expected to be living where I am now. Not this city or state or even region. But it's been huge to be an hour from family (themselves transplants to the area). Scooter has recently taken to saying, "We're going to live here forever and ever, until we die," which we take to mean he's moved around enough for now and doesn't need to go through that again anytime soon.

My life is nothing like I pictured as a kid, but so much better in a lot of ways!

I think there are people who get so hung up on the fact that their lives are just not what they imagined they'd be...they fail to look around and see what they do have!

My life isn't at all what I once thought it would be but, as you said, it"s so much better, deeper, richer than I had imagined.

Oh how I hope we'll be able to stay in the town we are moving to and put down some ROOTS. I crave being part of a community and am praying that this will be a step in that direction!
What a beautiful post, I loved it.

Thanks, Omaha. I think we all crave that continuity, that sense of plce. I hope things work out for you--it sounds so promising!
