I always go back to what a good friend told me, "Some day your house will be tidy. And very quiet."
I plan to enjoy both times.
To be honest, our house is way out of control right now. Messes everywhere, some of them quite gross. Popsicle sticks ON THE FLOOR. I had a little talk with my children this morning about helping a mother out. My three-year old told me, "No mom. We just like to play." He said it with a nod, like that's just the way it must be.

I like to keep seasonal works of art of the kids' on our two front entry doors (one to the garage, one to the front door). They are dark brown, painted metal doors. Not very pretty. The artwork makes them cheery. And always brings my smile.

Great post. :-)

Oh yes, the mess does tend to escalate and reach a point where a Mama just HAS to say something. Our house has gotten out of control this week--what with all the grading, and end-of-semester work, there hasn't been time to set things straight!

Yup, gotta love that fridge art. And, it's important too. For parent and kid.

And congratulations on finishing all that grading.
I'm sure the net/plagerism searches do get old.

Thanks, John! Yes, the plagiarism IS old. I still have three football players trying to track me down so I can change their grades.
