Awwww.... one more of those posts the tugs at my heart so strongly!

Just this Monday we dropped both boys off at their new future school and drove off to go househunting and then, I went out to lunch with the chair of my "new" department and the other Portuguese teacher. After this we had a crazy time of it -- having both to go to HR to get our paperwork ready knowing it was nearly pick up time at the school and we were a 25 minute drive away. I called the school and all was fine, but it was pretty crazy.

I didn't think about the boys much, but later when we reunited I realized that this will be it, next year, I'm finally letting go of my babies. Gotta blog about that. (I did let Kelvin go for a year, but then went to work at the school the next year and have them at home now). I guess I'm reluctant to "give birth" this second time!

I think it's tremendously more difficult to give birth that second time...especially with your last child!

Good luck on all the moving/job excitement! I'm so thrilled for you...

It's happening to me more and more too. My little guy has gone on all of his preschool trips without us. It just hasn't worked out for us to go. Guilt sneaks in a little, but he's been just fine every time. It's a shift, for sure. They are becoming their own people, separate from me, with or without my consent!

I know what you mean, Omaha--there's no consent in the whole process!
