The part about the desk made me most excited! The math improvement is great too. No math hopper this year??? :0)

What I hope for you is that when he is finished with grade school that the sum of all of the parts will be a positive number. That will be a victory, no matter how small.

Maybe L's teacher last year had her own place on the spectrum. Rigid and unable to bend. I think a teacher is nothing if not flexible!

We are so excited about the desk move, too!

You know, every teacher we've so far (except for 3rd grade) has been very flexible--it does seem like it's a natural gift most teachers bring with them to the job--like parenting, you HAVE to be flexible!

Hooray for little steps, whatever form they may take!

Scooter's teacher has given us permission to do other math assignments that work the same skills if we give her an account of what we do. The only reason we haven't so far is that we haven't gotten around to creating the alternate assignments. Eventually...

I know, mouse--it's all well and good in theory to be able to create alternative homework, but finding the time to do so: another issue altogether!
