Perfect timing, as we're a month away from our first trip overseas with the kids! Thank you! (Oh, and the connection between the books: Elrena's got an essay in How to Fit a Car Seat... !)

Oh--I had NO idea! How wonderful...I actually ordered a copy of the camel/car seat book yesterday because it looked so interesting.

These are great ideas. Thank you! Along with the scotch tape, I would add tissue paper. I remember spending many hours as a kid making scotch tape and tissue paper creations.

Tissue paper is a great idea! It would "travel" easily, too, and add another element of fun to the cutting and taping.

That last bit made me laugh! We just had our first experience of flying with the kids (2 and almost 5). We found it much easier than we had thought (the flights were 2 hrs or less each). Each kid had their backpack full of surprises (I spent little to nothing on) that included some dollar farm animals and dollar farm board book, and lots of fun snacks. Sugar was the theme, unfortunately! :-) On car rides, we do enjoy the DVD player, if it's a longer ride. It helps make the time go really fast for the kids.

The great thing about not supplying sugary snacks during regular life at home is that kids think they are extra special when you whip them out on trips!
