Swine flu (H1N1 for you proper folks) is running amok. Knock on wood, I haven’t gotten sick, and none of my friends or family has been unfortunate enough to catch this icky virus. But, a few acquaintances, friends of friends, and friend’s family members have gotten it, and from what I’ve heard, it’s a real bear to deal with.
Aside from the flu, this time of year is chock-full of other fabulous illnesses, including the regular flu and the common cold. That’s why it’s so important to make sure your medicine cabinet is fully stocked…with fresh medicine.
Seriously, when was the last time you did a thorough medicine cabinet cleaning? I bet you have stuff in there that expired a few years ago! So, take a few minutes and check the expiration dates on all your OTC and prescription meds. Toss any that are expired, stock up on fresh supplies, and you’ll be good to go if any kind of sickness happens to hit your household.
With that being said, do all you can to avoid getting sick, including washing your hands after sneezing or coughing, before and after eating, and any other time you touch a germ-ridden surface. And remember to wash them for at least 20 seconds…or long enough to sing the alphabet through one time.
Stay healthy, everyone!
