On the market to buy a new car...and a new gun? You might want to head to Butler, Missouri. That's right folks- if you buy a new car from Max Motors, you're entitled to a $450 voucher from a local gun shop to purchase an AK-47 assault rifle. You know, because everyone should have an AK-47 assault rifle in their home. OK, I understand car dealerships are suffering in this economy, and I don't blame owners for trying to think of creative ways to sell cars. But, a free AK-47 with the purchase of a new car? Where is the connection here? And why would ANYONE need an AK-47?? And, is a background check conducted first, or are the vouchers handed out as easily and freely as if they were candy? With horrible stories flooding the news, like the cold-blooded slaying of this Florida couple, I don't think it's a wise idea to be offering free guns to anyone who buys a new car. Now, I'm not going to get into the whole debate about the right to own a gun. That's a different topic for a different time. I just don't understand the point or the connection to this offer. How do you feel about this? If a car dealership near you was offering a free gun with the purchase of a new car, would you be eager to run out and buy one?
