Twilight series 'sucked' me in

As much as I loathe being herded to and from work by bus and train with hundreds of strangers, I also look forward to it every day. I enjoy this time for several reason; I love to plug into my iPod, zone out, and become completely absorbed in a book.

I recently jumped on the bandwagon and started reading the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. The series consists of four books: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.

I know, I know, this is a total teen sensation, but I couldn't resist checking it out. Guilty pleasure I suppose.

Ever since I started the first book, I have become obsessed! Reading till 2 a.m., then waking up excited to pick it back up on my morning commute to work. I am currently on the second book, New Moon, and as sad as I will be when I finish it, I can't put it down.

I haven't seen the movie and I won't reveal anything to spoil the outcome or details of the books, but I will say they are creative, easy reads. So, if you are commuting to work or have free time between your kids' naps, during TV time, or once they're in bed, I highly recommend reading the Twilight series.

Have you read any of the Twilight books? Is there anyone who has read the books and seen the movie? Any disappointments? I am excited to start the third book and am interested in hearing your thoughts!

I just read an interview with Steven King where he said that Stephenie Meyer "can't write worth a darn." I'm sure she's crying herself to sleep, on top of a pile of money.

Yeah, she is laughing all the way to the bank. The books might not be the deepest or intricate of writings, but they sure are quick and entertaining to pass the time riding public transportation! I'm interested to see the first movie and see how well it matches up to the book.

Hey

My daughter was absolutely obsessed with the Twilight books and begged me to read them too. I was hestitate because I don't really enjoy vampire stories very much.

I read them and I got addicted very quickly. I have not seen the movie, my daughter was disappointed in the movie. But I read all 4 books in 4 days!

No one claimed that she was going to be the next Hemingway but there is something to be said for pure entertainment reads.

I haven't yet had the chance to read these, but I think I might have to given the number of people I've heard talking about them recently.

I finished all four books!! I finished the fourth one in the shortest amount of time. In my opinion the fourth one was the best!
What do you think?
