Welcome back from what I hope was a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving.
Were you one of the thousands of people who traveled this Thanksgiving?
I personally have never had to travel far to see my family over the holidays. (And by far, I mean no more than a few hours in the car-- never have I had to travel by airplane.)
But to those of you who did travel by airplane-- how was it? With the new body-scanners in place and rumors of supposed protests involving those, I'm curious to know if any of you encountered delays or problems when trying to catch your flight.

It always seems like no matter how much sleep I get the night before, I'm always...ALWAYS...in desperate need of a nap come mid-afternoon.
Does that ever happen to you?
I suppose it's a combination of several things-- I usually workout during my lunch break and while exercise has an awakening effect for most people, it has always had a tendency to make me sleepy. Top it off with the fact that I usually eat lunch after I get back from the gym, and I've got the prime ingredients for a mid-afternoon slump-fest.
So I guess I should start taking my own advice when I tell you, a lot of how you feel...

A while back I had started every Monday with a health tip, whether it be a new exercise move, nutrition tip, health quote, or anything else that I thought might make healthy living a little easier for all you readers.
I haven't posted a health tip in a while, but I thought, with the holidays approaching and everyone's schedules getting busier and busier by the day, it might be a good time to bring Monday's health tip back.
So here we are. And you'll probably find today's health tip relates to this time of year because it has to do with your diet.

Every day when I get to the gym (well, maybe not every day...sometimes life gets in the way), I see the rows and rows of ellipticals, bikes, and treadmills filled up with people dutifully pounding out their recommended 30-60 minutes of cardio.
This would be wonderful if the main reason why everyone was there was for heart health or stress-relief.
But I know this is not true. I can guarantee almost every single person pounding away on each machine is there for one main reason-- fat loss.
Unfortunately, years and years of exercise fads and marketing techniques have been embedded in everyone's...
