It's safe to say I have a new obsession. I'm not usually one to really "get into" television shows, but my roommates have gotten me hooked on Dancing with the Stars. I tried to fight it, but I can honestly say I look forward to Monday and Tuesday nights now. Aside from the professional dancing (which never fails to make me wish I took up dancing at a young age and stuck with it), it is really neat to see how much each "star" improves week to week. Do you remember Nicole Scherzinger from last season? Her skills rivaled the pros! And I have to say-- I was a little sad to see David Hasselhoff go...

OK, here's a serious question for you-- have you started your Christmas shopping yet? If you are anything like me, the thought of Christmas hasn't even entered your mind yet. Last I checked, it's September. In my opinion, it's still practically summer. I haven't put away my sun dresses, I'm still wearing flip flops, and I know, deep down, we still have a few 80+ days left before the real cold weather comes our way. I was the first child in my family to go away to school. I chose a school about 3 hours away from my home-- an eternity at the time, especially since I didn't have a car, but still close enough where I could come home if I absolutely had to. Obviously, the first weeks/semester were an adjustment. I was learning to live on my own, with a roommate whom I barely knew (but luckily ended up being good friends with), and taking courses that were harder than I was used to.
