Wow! Halloween crept up pretty quickly this year, and I still don't have a costume. Growing up, my mom always made our costumes out of old "dress-up" clothes which consisted of my parents' threads from the '60s, '70s, and '80s. Since my mom made some pretty darn good costumes, I can't bring myself to go to a cheesy Halloween store and buy an adult costume for $50. It just seems like a waste of money for something you are going to wear for one night. Plus, everything on the shelves is a "naughty nurse," or a "sexy witch." When did Halloween become and excuse for girls to dress provocative? Oh...

Plastic surgery has always been a controversial issue. Sure you could have had a deviated septum, but most go under to improve their physical appearance. But have we gone too far as to create a beauty pageant just for women who have had plastic surgery? I don't think that plastic surgery should be idealized, but what's the big deal if someone had plastic surgery and was a participant in Miss America, Miss Intercontinental, Miss Universe, or whatever other "Miss" you can think of? They are beauty pageants, aren't they? No, wait, I just did a wikipedia search and they prefer "scholarship...

It's finally here, the vaccine to save the world! Well, not the world, but hopefully to reduce the cases of swine flu...err..I mean H1N1. Yesterday, the H1N1 vaccine was shipped around the nation. The vaccine comes in two forms: you can get poked with the flu shot or snort a nasal spray. Sorry mommies-to-be, but pregnant women cannot receive the nasal spray, along with people with compromised immune systems, you have to opt for the shot. Despite this blessed miracle vaccine, many have serious questions and concerns about receiving the vaccine since it is so new. Not only is the media still...
