We aren't out of cold and flu season quite yet. Fighting the common cold has always been a struggle. You know the drill when it comes to preventing colds: Wash your hands, keep yourself hydrated, get plenty of rest, eat healthy, and get plenty of exercise.
But once you get that nasty little bugger, how do you get rid of it? Well, there is always the popular vitamin C. Then zinc became popular as the "new" vitamin C. But, according to CNNHealth.com, the new popular choice is vitamin D. If you are like me and tend to get respiratory tract infections and coughs, this might be just be the vitamin...

Have you ever thought about how much food your family consumes in a week? How about how much money you spend on that week’s worth of food? I recently came across this photo essay from Time on what families around the world eat. The families are photographed with their weekly consumption of food neatly arranged around them.
Clicking through the slideshow, I was a little surprised to see that Germany topped the chart at a whopping $500 of food per week. But I wasn’t surprised to see that an American family was next in line, with $341 of food per week.

I am sure we have all heard the story and seen the picture of Olympic medalist Michael Phelps caught smoking marijuana from a bong. Because of this, Phelps has been suspended from competitive swimming for three months, lost several endorsement contracts, and is even being investigated to be charged with a crime.
What a mess over a picture and a little rambunctious behavior from a 23-year-old! Phelps is still just a kid, learning and growing through his own mistakes. Now, I am not condoning marijuana use, but would this really be a big deal if it was a picture of an average Joe toking up on...

As much as I loathe being herded to and from work by bus and train with hundreds of strangers, I also look forward to it every day. I enjoy this time for several reason; I love to plug into my iPod, zone out, and become completely absorbed in a book.
I recently jumped on the bandwagon and started reading the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. The series consists of four books: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.
I know, I know, this is a total teen sensation, but I couldn't resist checking it out. Guilty pleasure I suppose.
