So… I am not expecting a baby anytime soon, but the Social Security Administration’s release of the top boys’ names and girl’s names in the U.S. has put baby names in my brain.
Emma – the name of my great grandmother on my mom’s side – always really appealed to me as a baby name, from the earliest days of ever thinking about it. Fast-forward to 2011: I still love the name, but I just wouldn’t give it to my child because it has become so trendy. May is National Military Appreciation Month, and today is Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day are also coming up. The U.S. is feeling more patriotic and supportive of our troops following bin Laden's death last week, but our soldiers serve us every day. Now is a great time to support our troops.
