We all know the trouble with New Year's resolutions. They seem like these great goals that will magically be attainable because we just switched to a new calendar, and then -- poof! -- the reality of our hectic lives sets in and our motivation goes out the window a few days, weeks, or (if you're really good) months into the new year.
So how about a new approach this year? Make your hubby and kids your resolution buddies and set New Year's resolutions for your family to work on together. Working on resolutions solo puts all the pressure on you, but you barely have time to do...

Here it is, December 22, the day I freak out that I still need to pick up some Christmas gifts. It happens every year -- I think I'll come up with a better gift idea or come across a better sale or feel more in the finish-my-holiday-shopping spirit if I just wait until the week of Christmas...
Nope. Nope and nope. I am a procrasti-shopper.
But here's the good news:
Two-day shipping is still an option (slightly risky if all doesn't go as planned with shipping and handling, but waaay more pleasant than joining angry, aimless procrasti-shoppers at the mall...

Has anyone else noticed that there are a lot fewer G-rated movies these days? Look at the family movies in theaters for the holiday season – all rated PG and up.
The next G movie due in theaters is "Gnomeo and Juliet" in February. Where are all the G-rated movies? Seems like it's because of the profits and popularity of all the 3D movies geared toward older kids. Some of the movies targeted toward tots (like spinoffs of the Disney Princess movies and Tinkerbell movies) go straight to DVD.
