Happy September!

I know most schools start in August, but for me, nothing really says “Back to School” like turning the calendar to September.  My wall calendar must agree since for August there is a cartoon of kids playing soccer in shorts and lots of butterflies yet for September there are a stack of books with an apple on top and a girl getting on a school bus.

Yes, September is here and our wonderful teachers are back in the swing of teaching our children.  How about a giveaway just for you teachers out there?

Sound good?

Okay, let’s do it!

This autumn, Del Monte is holding its second annual, “Teacher Monday:  Cash for Classrooms” contest. Del Monte is offering teachers cash for fresh produce and a contest to win up to $1000 in cash for their classroom supplies and fresh fruit, along with a salad bar for their school!  Top winners of the contest will also win a Fresh Fruit Field Day for their school, a day full of fresh fruit, fun and games.

All of these wonderful prizes are a way to help teachers help promote healthy eating in their classrooms. Go to www.fruits.com to learn more about Del Monte Fresh Produce and this special competition.  Later this month, you can vote for your favorite teacher to win these big awards.

In the meantime, to help promote “Teacher Monday:  Cash for Classrooms,” I have two $25 gift certificates for Del Monte Fresh Produce to giveaway to teachers through this blog!

You have three chances to enter:

1.  “Like” Del Monte Fresh Produce on Facebook and leave a comment here on my blog letting me know you have done so!

2.  “Like” Sweet Peas and Pumpkins  on Facebook, and again leave me a comment.

3.  “Like” FamilyEducation.com on Facebook, and you guessed it, leave me a comment.

I will choose *two* winners at 9am, EST on Thursday, September 8.  I’ll post the winners later that same day!

Be sure to check out the official website of Teacher Monday:  Cash for Classrooms for any other questions!
