Kids are always learning, so lessons don't have to be huge an elaborte every day. Short fun lessons that fit into play is a great way to teach at home. This easy lesson in ordering by size uses ine of my son's favorite toys to teach an important concept. You can also seamlessly throw in a counting lesson by counting the blocks if you want. Blocks that connect are the best to use for this to avoid the frustration of falling blocks messing up the order.

Gather your materials. You will need some Lego ( we are using Duplo) in various colors and a base plate if you are doing it on carpet.

With your child make towers of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6  etc... legos.

Start the oder with the smallest.Let your child finish the ordering.

Celebrate! I normally ask my son " How did you know how to do that?" as a way of reviewing the activity without too much presure.

Remember the more fun they have while learning at a young age the more they will love learning even when it becomes really challenging.
