I just decided - literally this weekend - that I'm ready to be SURE that we won't have another baby. The question mark was in the back of my mind, even though we've said we were done since our little guy was born. I just wasn't ever positive. And now I am and J and I talked about permanent type decisions and what we might do in the next year. I suddenly felt so sure, like that question mark was gone. We will be four, and even though I think about babies too (in the way you described here) we are moving into this next chapter with confidence. I like it too.

Great post!

Thanks, Omaha...I think we've moved into the more permanent place as well--it's a process, though--you have to feel mentally and physical right, and ready to embrace this new stage in your lives!

I sway like that almost all the time now when I'm standing, a completely ingrained habit now!

J. is very much at that fun point now, although part of what we're discovering is that he's going to keep us on our toes nonstop!

Of course, there's that, too, mouse! But I remember how much fun it was when my kids started to communicate and point at things and laugh and become, well, little people instead of being so helpless...I always found the infant period so difficult and it didn't help that we had difficult time with both kids when they were infants.
