i wholeheartedly agree! there is No way i could hold bridget back from reading ahead. what am i supposed to say? "Stop reading and go watch some tv?" silly. reading is pure joy for our children, and i am not taking it from them. no way!

and i hate the pizza coupons for crappy pizza. i would rather they reward the kids (impossible i know) with an activity or a new book rather than food. but the almighty dollar always wins out. how else would the pizza company get to advertise their food to the innocent kids if not through the schools?

ok--off my soap box now. :-0

Exactly! How about rewarding kids with an inexpensive free book? Or a coupon towards a book? Or even just a pack of crayons?

I guess I could see a stipulation that once you've written your prediction, you could read ahead? I know that I can't put a good book down until it's done. If it's a particularly good one, my family may only see my face if they peek around the book for a day or two. So yeah, I get it.

I love that my kids can't wait to finish a book--I think once your kids get hooked into reading that way, you've set them on the right path for life.
