Does L. get to work with a physical or occupational therapist at school? maybe the one on staff can recommended a good activity. i think this sounds like a wonderful idea!

Great post, Alyssa, and kinda helpful maybe. We're having trouble getting A-Boy to do any home work(1st grd) so perhaps this concept will help. Let us know how it works for you.

I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes...Christine, he (strangely) didn't "qualify" for major OT services at school, although he gets them on a consult basis. We did OT privately for awhile, but it just didn't seem to work well for him. He hates organized activities, and anyone telling him/showing him what to do. He was very resistant to OT, alas.

I think that your idea of combining physical activity with his learnig was a great strategy. Keep up the good work L may learn to love it. Or you may have helped another mother pratice this strategy who it has helped. Great Job with L:-)
