One of my go-to meals (that I haven't made recently) is lentils in the crockpot, to which I add some garam masala. I notice your combination of spices is similar, so I'm sure it smells amazing while it's cooking!

It does smell amazing! I love the smeel of cumin, coriander, chile pwder--any of those "exotic" spices are so aromatic when simmering on the stove...

I can relate to L's limits with crowds, noise, etc. I tend to get overwhelmed by about then myself, and A-boy may sooner than that.

Dinner time - yeah, almost as much fun as bath time. Sounds like a fine dinner though. Thanks for the recipes also.

We eat dinner together too most nights. I really treasure it because most of the rest of the evening we often do our own thing (or pair off). We play the 'what was your favorite part of the day' game, even if B says every night that it was daddy coming home. :-) Lately I've been on a bit of a kick buying pretty placements to put in the middle of the table and inexpensive options to put under the plates. Around Christmas I found some silver plastic chargers I had bought on clearance the winter before. I put them under the plates and wow, the kids were excited. They thought it was so fancy. It's funny how little breaks in the routine can make it more fun.

It's so fun to "dress up" mealtime--my kids love any bit of ceremony we attach to a meal. T.'s favorite is when we light candles...
