I feel the same way about the bungalow to which we first brought E. home. I am sad that he doesn't remember it and that, instead, his first vivid memories of home are the personality-less condo we rented in Canada. But we never could have managed in it with two kids, and it had too many 'quirks.' Time to get the pictures out again.

Our little guy still says "I hate this house!" when he's angry, almost once a week! He misses Omaha, misses the only house he'd ever lived in, misses the life we had there. I never though a four-year old would hang on that way, even after the rest of us have basically moved on. I imagine we'll have to drive by our old place from time to time, to wave at it and see how it's doing. It's not ours any more, as of Friday. What a crazy year its been!

It's amazing to me how some kids just hold onto things--they have trouble moving on. L. is definitely one of those and a real challenge we have is helping him to see past things. He gets so bogged down with the here and now and it's hard for him to see the "big picture" and put things into a context.
