The Countdown Continues
I woke up today and realized that my 40th birthday is officially less than a month away. Part of me can’t wait.
I was excited to turn 30. It was 31 – being in my 30s – that I had a problem with. I kind of feel the same way with 40. I’m not that freaked out about it. It’s something of a milestone. [more]

New Brand Baby
No. Not “brand new baby” – don’t get any hopes up or start looking for the registry. I’m talkin’ “new brand baby.” In other words, even as a something of a professional marketer (in my other life), I’m amazed by the influence of brands on a (not quite) two-and-a-half year-old life. Obviously, this is a reflection on G and me, and our own dedication to “brand,” but…well…two-and-a-half? [more]

Different Parenting Styles
The K-Man has recently emerged from that all-too-fun phase where he greets his friends by hitting them. Repeatedly. It’s like a precursor to first grade when we show affection with a lovely punch in the shoulder. K-Man would push, hit, punch and just about anything else. One morning, he drew blood with a well-placed thwack in the nose with his sippy cup. Nice. Like I said, though, he’s made it to the other side and is, once again, the best kid in the world. [more]

That Trying Decision
Hi. My name’s Todd and I’m a Dad. I have one kid, henceforth to be known as K-Man, who is two-and-a-half going on 22-and-a-half. (Should we just get it out of the way that he’s the smartest, cutest, most artistic and athletic of all of his friends? Or of ALL? Sorry, wrong column. We’ll save the parent-hyper-competitive bit for another time. Suffice to say, K-Man is a good kid.)
