The Countdown ContinuesI woke up today and realized that my 40th birthday is officially less than a month away. Part of me can’t wait. I was excited to turn 30. New Brand BabyNo. Not “brand new baby” – don’t get any hopes up or start looking for the registry. I’m talkin’ “new brand baby.” In other words, even as a something of a professional marketer (in my other life), I’m amazed by the influence of brands on a (not quite) two-and-a-half year-old life. Different Parenting StylesThe K-Man has recently emerged from that all-too-fun phase where he greets his friends by hitting them. Repeatedly. It’s like a precursor to first grade when we show affection with a lovely punch in the shoulder. K-Man would push, hit, punch and just about anything else. One morning, he drew blood with a well-placed thwack in the nose with his sippy cup. Nice. Like I said, though, he’s made it to the other side and is, once again, the best kid in the world. That Trying DecisionHi. My name’s Todd and I’m a Dad. I have one kid, henceforth to be known as K-Man, who is two-and-a-half going on 22-and-a-half. (Should we just get it out of the way that he’s the smartest, cutest, most artistic and athletic of all of his friends? Or of ALL? Sorry, wrong column.
