Saddest kid's movies of all timeAnyone in their 20's or older often looks back fondly on how things "used to be". Well, maybe 20's is a little young to be thinking that way, but at the ripe old age of 26, there have been a couple of times when I've gotten a little nostalgic for the good old days that didn't require having an electronic device attached to your body 24/7. A classic comes to lifeAnother classic children's book comes to life on the silver screen. Personally, I think this one looks like the movie of the year! Maurice Sendak's classic children's books, Where The Wild Things Are comes alive on the big screen October 16th. Directed by Spike Jonze, the trailer sucked me back to my childhood immediately. I was a huge fan of these books growing up, and I was swept back in time when I saw the book in motion while watching the trailor. [more]

A different kind of soapboxA type of strange stomach virus hit our household this weekend. My husband, who almost never gets sick, came down with it first. While this virus doesn't make you have to spend all day in the bathroom, it does swoop down and leave you feeling weak and tired and queasy and achy--all unpleasant things for a weekend.
